After leaving N.W.A., rapper Eazy-E led a career that was filled with controversy and was considerably successful commercially, even if it never matched the creativity of his previous band. Eazy-E began his solo career in 1988 with Eazy-Duz-It; it was his only full-length album.

Eazy-E left N.W.A. after 1991's Niggaz4Life hit the top of the charts. The breakup of N.W.A. was extremely bitter and Eazy in particular earned the wrath of Dr. Dre. Dre and Eazy carried out their feud on record throughout the early '90s.

Even though he released several hit EPs, Eazy's career was in decline when he announced he was suffering from AIDS in early March of 1995; he only learned that he had the disease in the previous month. Three weeks later, the rapper died on March 26, 1995 -- he was 31 years old. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
