Rapper-turned-actor Xzibit predicts the Eminem-starring movie "8 Mile" will be a hit in both the box office and at awards ceremonies.
The hip-hop star, whose real name is Alvin Joyner, stars opposite Marshall Mathers III in the semi-autobiographical movie, directed by Curtis Hanson.
Xzibit enthuses, "I've seen it and it's over the top. It's going to win awards."
"The film is miraculous. I play a bully."
Xzibit admits he initially signed to star in the film because it included Eminem and Dr Dre's involvement, part of his "family" of artists.
He says, "I'm in '8 Mile' because it's family orientated. I was more than happy to do it because we're all family. But if Curtis Hanson called me with a role and said it was to play a swashbuckler, I'd have to kind of hesitant."
