Eminem's new semi-autobiographical film '8 Mile' has been winning over audiences since making its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Playing to packed houses on the festival circuit, praise has been heaped on the film, which is about a struggling young rapper in the Detroit area.
Most moviegoers will have to wait until 8 Mile is released on November 8 to see the film, and strong reviews and word-of-mouth have fueled anticipation to the point that the movie is expected to do very well on its opening weekend.
The latest great review is from a very qualified source - Oscar winning director Ron Howard, whose longtime collaborator Brian Grazer produced the film and helped develop it. It was Grazer who claimed very early on that Eminem should receive an Oscar nomination for his performance.
Howard gave his take on the drama, "8 Mile is more Brian's brainchild. Curtis Hanson directed it, so I'm more of a fan cheering it on," he said. "When I saw the movie, all I can say is I liked the screenplay, and I loved the movie. It's surprising. It's going to be a little controversial, but it's really terrific drama. It's a really good movie going experience, and I think it's going to surprise a lot of people."
Also the new Eminem single 'Loose Yourself' continues to do well on charts across the world. The video clip is currently Raptism.Com's featured Video of the week
