Big Tigger, BET veteran host and internationally syndicated radio personality, announces the highly anticipated return of Big Tigger's Annual Celebrity Classic to Washington, DC. As the 7th installment of this premier charity event benefiting HIV/AIDS, Big Tigger's celebrity weekend will bring together an unprecedented group of Hollywood celebrities, professional athletes and politicians. Big Tigger's 7th Annual Celebrity Classic will be held June 5-7, 2008 in the Washington DC area.

Presented by Big Tigger's Street Corner Foundation Inc. (SCF) and unmatched by any other celebrity event, Big Tigger's 7th Annual Celebrity Weekend will raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS. This year's event promises to be bigger, bolder and better; attracting an elite group of Hollywood heavy hitters, professional athletes and the music industry's finest. Elevating the star presence of the annual event, past celebrity supporters include Alicia Keys (Multi Platinum Artist and Multi Grammy Winner), Allen Iverson (NBA Denver Nuggets), Gilbert Arenas (NBA Washington Wizards), Terrell Owens (NFL Dallas Cowboys), Steve Francis (NBA Houston Rockets), Vivica A. Fox (Actress), R. The Washington DC community and notables have welcomed Big Tigger back to the metropolitan area with open arms. DC Mayor Adrian Fenty states, "Washington, DC has a high rate of HIV/AIDS which means there is a need for more education and services to eradicate this disease. The District of Columbia is grateful for your efforts and looks forward to benefiting from the work you do," continues Fenty.

DC Councilmember Harry "Tommy" Thomas, Jr. (D-Ward 5) echoes Fenty's sentiments, "I'm pleased that Big Tigger's Annual Celebrity Weekend is coming to Washington, DC. We desperately need to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS in the District and across the nation, particularly among the African-American community and our young people," continues Thomas.

As the cornerstone of the SCF Foundation, Big Tigger's 7th Annual Celebrity Classic is a unique charity event working to eradicate the spread of HIV/AIDS among young adults, minorities and women in our nation's capital and beyond. The celebrity weekend, designed to both raise funds for and heighten public awareness of HIV/AIDS, will include a series of planned activities including innovative testing programs, educational workshops, community events and the highlight event -- the celebrity basketball game. Big Tigger's 7th Annual Celebrity Classic will directly impact over 35,000 residents over a 3-day period.

As the foremost activist in the fight against HIV/AIDS, Big Tigger is the 2005 recipient of the prestigious National Black Caucus of State Legislators' Visionary Award for his "inimitable presence in the HIV/AIDS arena as an ambassador of good health" and has been formally recognized by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as a top African American leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
