MTV has again teamed up with comedic mastermind Nick Cannon for a new project, Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz. The series, created, executive produced and starring Nick Cannon himself offers a fresh new blend of sketch comedy that skewers pop culture with a hip-hop edge. With the help of some of the hottest comedy players, viewers will enjoy topical sketches, dead-on impersonations of beloved celebrities, notables and laugh-out-loud hi-jinx as only Nick and MTV can bring it. The eight-episode series will premiere on April 5th at 9:30PM (ET/PT) and joins new series Adventures in HollyHood and Human Giant for MTV’s new Thursday night comedy line-up, along with returning series, Pimp My Ride. Plugging in with Nick on Short Circuitz are some of the funniest comics to hit the airwaves. With the likes of Affion Crockett, Eliza Coupe, Leonard Robinson, Taran Killam and Mikey Day on board, hilarity is guaranteed! Nick and his uber-talented comedy crew notoriously parody everything from rappers who band together for a common cause, "R.A.C.S" (Rappers Against Child Support); Judge Mo Dolla$ (played by Katt Williams), a pimped out judge who's the star of his wacky courtroom; and celebrity guests adding to the fun, such as Ice-T explaining the virtues of his newest invention “Ice-Tivo”. Other guest celebrities include Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Nas and Kevin Hart. Nick Cannon’s first collaboration with MTV, Wild N Out remains a fan favorite and is currently in production for a 4th season. Having previously worked in film and television, his award-winning Nickelodeon hit, The Nick Cannon Show and the 2002 movie Drumline shot him to celebrity status. He has been named as one of the Top Ten Most Successful People in Young Hollywood by People Magazine and recently appeared in the critically acclaimed film Bobby. Fans can log onto mtv.com to enjoy the Short Circuitz Pre-Show only online! Nick talks about the new series and how its refreshing content will keep audiences laughing. He’ll also introduce his cast of comedic characters and the celebs that will join in on the fun. Also check out photos and bios of the entire cast and more! Additionally, MTV On Demand will give fans the opportunity to enjoy their most favorite sketches starting on April 27th. Clips as well as full episodes of Short Circuitz will be also available on MTV Mobile video on demand and mediaflo.
