Pharoahe Monch, is set to shoot the hip hop video for his first single “Push,” on Thursday, August 17th in Green Point, Brooklyn. “Push” is the debut single off of his sophomore CD, Desire, coming out on his new label home, SRC/Universal Motown, this winter.

Being shot by Paul Minor, the video for “Push” is set in NYC circa 1977; during that summer’s massive power outage. The clip takes you through this tumultuous time where the city was recovering form near backruptcy and a massive police corruption scandal. In addition to exposing this time, the clip will create unforgettable imagery that evocates the conditions of poverty in the USA.

After recording three albums together Monch went on to pursue a solo career and released the critically acclaimed Internal Affairs in 1999.
