Trend-setting British based soul outfit, The Brand New Heavies, will kick off a US tour in July to support the release of Get Used To It (out June 27th on Delicious Vinyl). After sold-out and wildly successful shows in New York and Los Angeles, where the group displayed true energy and passion, they will be back on the road this summer, headlining dates all over the United States with a headlining tour sponsored by VH1 Soul. They will kick things off with a show in Dallas on July 1st and join the Essence Music Festival for a special performance the following evening. Sultry soul artist Van Hunt will join the group for their summer performances.

"It was a thunderous experience coupled up with so much excitement, friends and fans alike were thrilled to see us back together again. Anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to see us live should prepare themselves to see a rockin’, powerful show," N’Dea Davenport expresses about the Brand New Heavies’ recent and upcoming performances.

After pursuing a solo career, the Brand New Heavies’ original front woman N’Dea Davenport (with whom the band created their debut self titled album and follow up “Brother Sister” in the early/mid 90s) has re-united with the band for the release of Get Used To It – an album full of Davenport’s stunning vocal prowess and the band’s funky live jamming.

The first single “I Don’t Know Why (I Love You),” a cover of the legendary Stevie Wonder tune from 1971, will hit urban and crossover radio in the next few weeks. Recorded and produced by the group with Executive Producer and Delicious Vinyl label owner Michael Ross in New York and London, the album will be available simultaneously at Starbucks Company-operated locations in the US and Canada as well as traditional retail. Fans will also be able to enjoy the new tracks online at www.heavieslisteningparty.com, where the full album will be available to stream, beginning on June 6th.

The Brand New Heavies were born out of the rare groove scene and formed in the late eighties by drummer/keyboard player Jan Kincaid, bassist Andrew Love Levy and guitarist Simon Bartholomew. As pioneers of the London acid jazz scene, their groundbreaking alternative sound has garnered commercial and critical acclaim worldwide.
