Supreme Court Judge in Brooklyn made a decision in favor of releasing a portion of Shyne's assets which were frozen as a result of the "Sun of Sam" law.
Justice David Vaughan made a ruling yesterday which involved permission for Shyne to withdraw $100,000 from a half million dollar advance from a 2004 record deal. The money is to be used to pay legal fees in a legal suit with millions of dollars at stake.
Rap artist Shyne has not had access to his record earnings or legal representation since late 2004.
The judge ordered two of Shyne's previous law firms to turn over documents regarding their client by May 3rd.
Currently Shyne is serving a 10 year jail sentence due to criminal possession of a weapon, as well as reckless endangerment and and assault. The incident stemmed from a shooting which injured 3 people in a New York nightclub.
