Front man Chuck D for the rap group Public Enemy has announced his affiliation with a new wireless content company titled "Chuck D Mobile."
The service which was just launched earlier this month has a goal to distribute mobile content such as audio and music videos wirelessly. Similar music downloading services have been popular with other major wireless carriers.
To help develop Chuck D's vision of a mobile service, they have tapped the resources of M-Qube which is a company who specializes in making content available to mobile phones.
Chuck D Mobile has plans to offer ringtones, music clips, voice tones, and a variety of music videos. Full audio songs will be offered from various rap artists.
The goal for Chuck D Mobile will be to make music available directly to the fans via the established wireless phone industry.
While speaking with Forbes Wireless Stock Watch, Chuck D stated he was a "fan of spreading artistry and for artist to do their own thing." He goes on to say that "content providers usually have to run into middle men first who judge their art before it goes to the masses." He says it should be the other way around.
