The Indigio Group Inc. working with MediaNews Group Interactive has completed a comprehensive redesign of The Alameda Newspaper Group's San Francisco Bay area web site www.insidebayarea.com. The new site, launched March 1, 2006, encompasses the significant readership areas of all the company's bay area newspapers.
In development since June of last year, the new site includes significant changes including flash-based special features and breaking news slideshows, and includes a fully categorized homepage that allows for quicker movement to areas of interest for the online visitor. A centerpiece of the site is a new, integrated search layout that categorizes results by news category, date, people and places, helping users to quickly refine and focus results.
"This is a very exciting and extensive update of our web-based presence for all our newspaper sites," said David Prizer, ANG's Vice President for Interactive Operations. "Our readers, print and web-based, now have a complete and interactive bay area source on the web for local, regional and national news, events and information. They can easily access bay area-wide news and content, or focus in on their own local newspaper's website."
The Alameda Newspaper Group is comprised of The Oakland Tribune, The Tri-Valley Herald, The San Mateo County Times, The Argus, The Daily Review, and The Alameda Times-Star. InsideBayArea.com also serves The Marin Independent Journal.
"This site upgrade program fits perfectly with our core capabilities," said Tim Higgins, President, and CEO of Indigio. "The extensive research we undertake to capture industry best practices, coupled with our strong creative design and development of enhanced search tools, embody Indigo's commitment to turn a client's concepts and vision into a valuable business resource."
