An arrest warrant has been issued for the Game, who missed a March 28 court date in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, stemming from an October incident at a mall there, according to the Greensboro News Record.
The rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, was at the Four Seasons Town Centre in Greensboro, signing autographs and was wearing a Halloween mask at the time. According to police, Game and his entourage were being disruptive and swearing loudly.
When three off-duty police officers asked him to remove his mask, refrain from cursing and leave the premises, he refused and was arrested. When members of Game's crew began to surround the arresting officer, another policeman responded by spraying them with pepper spray.
The officer who discharged the pepper spray was the subject of an investigation by the department's internal affairs division, according to the News Record; his name has not been released, but the officer has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
"The guy had a mask on and wasn't taking it off," said Sergeant Levester Thomas, who heads the internal affairs division. "It goes downhill from that point."
The officer's reaction during the incident was determined to be "reasonable," the paper reported.
An attorney for the Game said Friday (April 14) that he was unaware of the warrant.
