Dead Prez’ It's Bigger Than Hip Hop film is set to headline the 2006 Atlanta Hip Hop Film Festival Film Screenings, running from April 27th - 30th.
It's Bigger Than Hip Hop, which will be available for screening at the Carter Center on April 30, is Dead Prez’ first filmed concert. The one-hour feature film shows an exclusive Dead Prez concert and includes significant tracks like, "I'm an African", "Turn off the Radio" and "Hell Yeah." As a bonus, there's an added clip where the politically-charged duo comprised of M-1 and Stic.man discuss topics such as urban poverty and the current state of hip hop.
Other honorable mentions to be screened at the film festival are: Rhyme Spitters, a frantic-paced documentary showing 64 Chi-town MCs battling for a $1,000 cash prize and Hip Hop Business or Art?, a film that looks at how independent artists keep a balance of authenticity and mainstream selling points in their music.
