The Insite has learned Houston superstar Beyonce' Knowles and rapper Sean Paul have been accused of copyright infringement in a lawsuit filed in federal court in the Bayou City.
The suit was filed by a Minnesota woman who claims she wrote, produced and then submitted a son called "Got a Little Bit of Love for You" to Sony music, Beyonce' and her father Mathew Knowles in 2003. Jennifer Armour says in court records that one day while watching the Macy's 4th of July celebration she heard a song that sounded very familiar.
It was being performed by Beyonce'. That song was "Baby Boy" a duet with Sean Paul. Armour claims while the title is different the song's hook and some of the words are the same as the original piece she wrote and submitted to the Houston superstar and her father. Armour is suing Beyonce, Sony and Sean Paul claiming she was properly compensated for the hit song she actually had the copyright on and that she wrote.
