Community activist Quanell X tells the Insite he will be in the recording studio with legendary Houston rapper Pimp C this morning (Saturday) recording some lyrics for Pimp's new album Pimpalation. X says the lyrics will be focused on African American males who are in prison. He says the song will basically state while "the white man can you lock your body up behind bars, he can't keep your mind on lockdown." Quanell X is no stranger to rap music he tells the Insite.
He says his speeches have long been sampled by local rappers. He also worked as a public relations specialist for Rap-a-Lot in the 90's. There is no solid release date for Pimp C's album just yet. And for all you fans of Quanell X and Pimp C - they are not disclosing the location of the recording session on Saturday.
