Although the Bay has received some much deserved shine over the past few months due to the growing hyphy craze, rappers in the Northern California area continue to get their hustle on.
One rapper in particular is D-Shot, an original member of the Bay Area supergroup The Click and the younger brother of the E-40. In addition to prepping a new album, titled Callin' All Shots, the rapper is putting his hard earned money into other sources of revenue -- one being the toy game.
D-Shot has recently announced the release of the world's first education hip-hop doll called Baby Hip-Hop. The doll, which stands approximately 18 inches tall, teaches young children how to rap and count. When the doll's stomach is pushed in, it talks; first by introducing himself, then by rapping about education subjects for young kids.
"It's for the parents who don't want their kids listening to the profanity in hip-hop," D-Shot told BallerStatus.net. "It's an alternative for the kids. It's got a gold chain and everything, and when you push his stomach in, it teaches you how to rap and count."
Baby Hip-Hop sells for $39.99 at its official website, www.BabyHipHop.net. Other products available in the online store are the Baby Hip-Hop Education CDs, educational books and T-Shirts.
"I keep my feet in different gumbo pots 'cause I'm an entrepreneur, not just a rapper," said D-Shot of the latest venture.
The rapper's forthcoming release, Callin' All Shots, features guest appearances by Kurupt, E-40, Turf Talk and Suga-T. It is slated for release April 4 on Sick Wit It Records.
