The Thursday before Christmas [December 22], more than 5,000 cases of the hip hop/rap artist’s Pimp Juice energy drink were stolen in St. Louis, Missouri, on their way to Trinidad, according to a hip hop web site.
"Somebody’s holiday parties are going to be poppin'," Nelly quipped in a statement. "Our company is prepared to handle situations like this, but it is sad that people get desperate this time of year."
The thieves who stole the shipment bound for Trinidad – an upcoming new market for Pimp Juice – may have been caught on tape, representatives for Fillmore Street Brewery, the company that manufactures the energy drink, told the web site.
"It is unbelievable to think that someone would steal an entire truckload of our product," William Wooten, president of the brewery, told the site. "I guess the only positive thought on the subject is that this means the product is in high demand."
