Following a court appearance just two days ago, Foxy Brown has reportedly released her attorney. During Monday’s (Dec. 5) court date, attorney Joseph Tacopina revealed his client, Foxy Brown, is almost totally deaf after he was asked by the judge why he'd spent the entire morning passing notes back and forth with her. Allegedly, Tacopina was not authorized to give any public testimony about Foxy’s medical condition and was fired for sharingdetails, which, she says, were not accurate. According to Benjamin Chavis, president of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Tacopina was released "for giving improper and inappropriate statements to the press about her medical condition when she had requested of him not to make any statements to the press about anything other than her legal case." After the court proceedings, Tacopina went on to tell reporters that Brown's sensorineural hearing loss had worsened. "She is pretty much totally deaf," Tacopina said with his client at his side. "This hearing loss is truly a tragedy." "She felt the attorney went too far, and therefore he was dismissed on the spot," said Chavis, who met yesterday with Foxy and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons. "She heard him say things she had not authorized him to say about her health." Tacopina confirmed that he is no longer representing Foxy, but added their parting of the ways had nothing to do with any hearing loss discussions. "I hope they're not using that as a cover," Tacopina said. "We parted ways because of a difference of opinion about how to proceed with her case." "She wanted me to explain to the judge that she can't hear," the lawyer said. "That was done on the record." Tacopina went on to add that he spoke about Foxy's hearing loss to reporters only because they were in court and asked him about it. Foxy, whose real name is Inga Marchand, recently told People magazine: "I couldn't even hear myself scream" when her affliction took a turn for the worse. Monday’s court appearance stems from charges that Foxy assaulted two Chelsea manicurists in August 2004 after they confronted her about an unpaid bill for a manicure and pedicure. Foxy maintains that she never received the manicure, and that she was locked inside the salon during the dispute.
