A Chicago hip hop deejay sued by rapper Kanye West over some unreleased songs that West produced is responding with a lawsuit of his own. In his federal countersuit, Eric "E-Smoove" Miller disputes West's contention that the two didn't have a contract -- arguing that West worked for Miller at the time. The countersuit also claims West is wrong when he contends he hadn't turned 18 when he produced the ten unreleased songs a decade ago. Miller's attorney says Miller has a right to profit from the master recordings and that West's lawsuit is preventing that. West was unknown when the recordings were made. Since then, the Chicago native has become a huge star and Grammy winner. Miller's lawsuit seeks payment of almost $10.5 million and the right to use the masters without West's permission.
