CHARLESTON, SC -- Charleston police have arrested three men while investigating whether laws were broken in the making of a DVD that the producer has called a hip-hop documentary. Three men in the film have been charged with crimes. Mikeill Washington, 26, of North Charleston was arrested on an outstanding warrant; he is accused of driving while his license was suspended. Arnold Gibbs was charged with assault and battery with intent to kill after a shooting victim identified Gibbs while watching the DVD. Terrell Dante Todd, 18, was charged with cocaine possession when officers found him at a home where they had gone to look for another man featured on the DVD. The movie shows men rapping with assault rifles and shows them displaying what appears to be crack cocaine. Producer Roderick Drayton of RD Drayton Filmz has said that the guns and drugs were props. He said he made the movie to show the hip-hop culture in Charleston.
