Rap & hip hop artist Twista and staff from Atlantic Records held a listening party on Wednesday (August 24) in a Los Angeles recording studio, giving those in attendance an early listen of the rapper's next album, entitled The Day After. After having a breakout year in 2004 with Kamikaze, which has sold 1.81 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Twista is returning strong with a line-up of nothing but A-list artists and producers. When you need a hit, who do you go to? That's right, the Neptunes. The Chi-Town native teamed up with the Neptunes for at least two tracks including "Lavish" featuring Pharrell, which Twista pushed for to be the first single, and "Get You Home" featuring Jamie Foxx and Pharrel once again. Other production included Mr. Collipark (Ying Yang Twin's "Wait"), Scott Storch, Timbaland, David Banner, Toxic and Cuzo to name a few, while guest appearances include Trey Songz on the lead single "Girl Tonite," Pitbull, Lil' Kim, Mariah Carey, Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg, among others. For the most part, the album is well balanced with radio, female, club and street friendly tracks. Although the tracklist is yet to be finalized, Atlantic reps confirmed with BallerStatus.net that Twista will be recording four more songs, one of which will most likely be the second single. Twista is currently in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches on The Day After, which is slated to drop October 4.
