Simply click on the Ultimate Urban Music Showcase icon for additional information and the official application.  All applications must be signed, dated and submitted by Thurs., April 1 and must include a CD or cassette of original material (2-song minimum), photo and press kit and the $35 application fee.  Additionally, all applications for the Ultimate Urban Music Showcase will be automatically considered for one of the general industry showcase slots at the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival.

All submissions for the Ultimate Urban Music Showcase will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals including Londyn McGrew (ASCAP), Anthony Truss (Sony/BMG Distribution), Dorma Davis (So So Def), Sabrina Montgomery (BME Recordings), Stone Stafford (The Artist Factory/So So Def), Sloan (BME Recordings) and DJ Nabs (Hot 107.9/Air Control Ground Control/So So Def).

From the pool of entrants for the 2005 Ultimate Urban Music Showcase, ten will be selected to perform at a private showcase in front of esteemed industry judges. The field will then be narrowed to five finalists who will perform during the Ultimate Urban Music Showcase on Thurs., August 11 (location TBA) at Atlantis and vie for a grand prize that includes an opening slot at 95.5 the Beat’s Birthday Bash on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 as well as other generous prizes, details of which will be announced later this spring. All five finalists in the Ultimate Urban Music Showcase will receive airfare to and from Atlanta, hotel accommodations in the host hotel, VIP registrations to the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival, allowing access to all Atlantis parties, showcases, keynote speeches and panels.

The Ultimate Urban Music Showcase debuted last summer during the 2004 Atlantis Music Conference + Festival. Hailed as one of the greatest platforms in America for the discovery of new talent, the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival is the music industry's main summertime gathering place, annually bringing together professionals representing all sectors of the music industry and more than 300 of music’s most promising new artists for 4 around-the-clock days and nights of performances, panels, parties, keynote addresses and more.

In 2004, the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival welcomed more than 300 artists, 3,000 registrants and 42,000 live music enthusiasts, together representing 32 states and six countries. Atlantis showcases are known throughout the industry as featuring the best new artists--95% of which are unsigned--performing for music enthusiasts in Atlanta’s renowned live music venues. Independent artists are given the opportunity to be seen and heard by some of today’s most influential industry executives and A&R representatives. Past showcasing artists include Maroon 5, Los Lonely Boys, John Mayer, Bone Crusher, Joi, Tony Rich, Goodie Mob, Lil Scrappy, Cee-Lo, Lost Prophets, The Lost Trailers, Sugarland, Lloyd, Trapt, Glen Phillips, Kottonmouth Kings and Jarvis to name a few.

In addition to nightly showcases for new talent, the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival will host instructional and provocative educational panels that are designed to present the challenges facing the music business today and shed light on the various aspects of the industry, helping to instruct the novice and accelerate the seasoned professional. Conducted during the day at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, the official headquarters for the 2005 Atlantis, the panels are one of the main reasons people return to Atlantis year after year.

Other integral parts of the Atlantis Music Conference + Festival include five official Atlantis Parties, the Atlantis Job Fair and the Exhibition Area. Hosted at different Atlantis music venues, the Atlantis Parties are two-hour affairs that allow musicians and music industry professionals to network in a social setting. The Atlantis Job Fair consists of Human Resource representatives from successful music-based companies that take applications and discuss job opportunities with Atlantis attendees. The Exhibition Area features vendors promoting music-oriented products aimed at benefiting Atlantis attendees.
