We just recieved sad news about LA Hip Hop pioneer Mixmaster Spade.. He passed away last night in Los Angeles..Early reports are saying that it was from complications to the injuries he got two weeks ago when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident...In fact Steve Harvey and other LA luminarires were in the process of organizing a fiundraiser for him so he could pay for some of his medical bills.

Mixmaster Spade was amajor factor in the LA rap game.. He worked with everyone from DJ Pooh to Toddy Tee to King Tee. He recently did some work with Snoop Dogg. Mixmaster Spade was best known for singing as he rapped.. pretty similar to the way the legendary DJ Hollywood would rock a crowd. His flava inspired other artists like Domino to to follow suit..Some people said he sounded like a preacher..His big album was 'The Genius Is Back'.

We caught up with fellow West coast pioneer Nasty Nes who was part of Sir Mix-a-Lot's posse..

Here's what he said..

"We lost a serious West Coast pioneer in Hip-Hop music. From me & the Mix-A-Lot posse who grew up listening to your music, R.I.P."

Poetess, another LA vet in the game is gathering material and tomorrow we will run a comprehensive interview from this LA great and give you more details as they come in..
