Some greedy record labels are attempting to push digital music retailers to increase the price on online downloads. The Financial Times has reported that the likes of Universal and Sony BMG are not supporting the negotiations as they feel that market is far too new to be disrupted in this way. FT analysts told the paper that a price increase could turn consumers off buying online after becoming used to the average 79/99p price per track.
