De La Soul was on the grind last year when they dropped their critically-acclaimed album The Grind Date, after a three-year hiatus. Now, the group is back at it again as they prepare to embark on a speaking and performance tour of U.S. colleges next month.

On what they call the Past, the Present, the Future tour, De La Soul will begin touring on March 2 at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and run through March 30 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, according to Reuters.

"We've wanted to do something like this for a while," group member Pos told Reuters. "We're fans of hip-hop, and to have the opportunity to talk to young people about what's so powerful in hip-hop -- its history and what's going on right now -- is the coolest thing we could be doing."

Tickets will go on sale for only $1.20, while the speaking part (symposium) of the tour is free. On top of the tour, attendees can enter to win four scholarships underwritten by proceeds from the tour, as well as visit SpitKicker.com to enter.

The Past, the Present, the Future tour will also include special guest appearances by Phife Dawg, Scarface, Raphael Saadiq and Dwele, on selected dates.
