Ferndale police are investigating the discovery of a body at the recording studio where hip-hop rapper Eminem recorded his first mainstream album.
Police said a man in his late 40s was found on the first floor entryway of Studio 8, 430 W. 8 Mile, located at Eight Mile and Woodward.
It appeared he had been shot once, according to Local 4 reports from the scene.
The man is possibly the owner of the recording studio, A.J. Abdullah, but police have not confirmed the identity of the man.
The victim appeared to have been dead since Friday; Abdullah has not been heard from since then.
The body was discovered by a customer who came into the studio and saw the man lying on the floor. The customer went next door to a heating and cooling business where workers there notified police.
The studio is currently up for sale on eBay and has one bid at a price of $215,000. Bidding started on Dec. 16 and is supposed to continue until Jan. 13.
According to eBay, the 1,500 square-foot property served as the recording studio for Eminem's 1997 Slim Shady LP. The building has been partially renovated and houses a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor, according to eBay.
