Just in time for the biggest shopping day of the year, rapper 50 Cent and Reebok launch two new styles in the G-Unit collection on Friday, November 26th 2004. The introduction of 50 Cent’s rugged new G-Unit B1 Boot marks the first time Reebok has unveiled a boot designed by a musical artist. Also, building off the tremendous success of the original G6, Reebok debuts the G6 II – featuring clean, court-inspired designs that depict 50 Cent’s unique style and hip hop flavor.
G-Unit B1 Boot: A true reflection of 50 Cent’s days on the cold gritty streets of New York, the Reebok G-Unit B1 Boot has a rugged, tough look inspired by 50 Cent's urban lifestyle. Featuring smooth full grain leather in brown/seed and all-black colorways for men and a black/pink and doe/ivory cream colorway for women, the boot is constructed with a lug outsole for durability and outdoor traction. Designed to tackle winter’s harsh conditions in true hip-hop style, the G-Unit B1 Boot will be available for a suggested retail price of $110.50 for men and $100.50 for women.
G6 II: Featuring an athletic feel and a retro classic look, the G6 II is the second coming of 50 Cent’s original G6. Taking design cues from cool tennis kicks of the ‘80’s, the G6 II features a rich full grain leather upper, a TPU heel clip for extra support and a rubber court outsole. Hitting stores in a white/black colorway for men and a black/pink colorway for women, the G6II will be available for a suggested retail price of $80.50.
Kicking off in conjunction with the footwear launches, Reebok and 50 Cent will launch an “Are You G-Unit Material?” promotion called “Drop Your Beats on Rbk Streets.” Consumers who enter the promotion will have a chance to win a grand prize of a new pair of G-Unit kicks each month for a full year and the opportunity to showcase his/her original track on one of DJ WhooKid’s mix tapes. 50 Cent will personally judge all contestants based on lyrics, music and beat criteria. Consumers may enter the promotion online at www.rbk.com beginning on November 26, 2004. The grand prize-winner will be announced on May 1, 2005.
