Rapper Jay-Z announced that he intends to honour the remaining dates of the 'Best Of Both Worlds' tour, even though co-headliner R. Kelly was dropped over the weekend following an altercation backstage.
As previously reported, Kelly claims a member of Jay-Z's entourage attacked him and his three bodyguards with pepper spray as he was returning to perform. Jay-Z denies any involvement in the incident, adding that Kelly had created a "dangerous situation" by claiming to have seen guns being waved in the audience. Kelly, in turn, filed a $75m lawsuit against Jay-Z and his production company.
The tour was expected to fall apart, but Jay-Z has decided to continue to tour with Pharell Williams, Slick Rick, Professor Griff and Doug E. Fresh.
During Monday night's Madison Square Garden show in New York, Jay-Z reportedly told the crowd "We don't need R&B tonight - we've got hip-hop."
