In a case of life imitating art, a video for the newly remastered Twista and Coo Coo Cal track “Ride Till We Die” will never see the light of day because its depiction of a van accident too closely resembles a recent van crash that killed one of rapper Twista’s security staff.
Earlier this month, the Chicago fast-rapper was released from an Erie, PA hospital after his touring van veered off Interstate 90 and slammed into a median.
District Attorney Brad Foulk said, "All of them except the driver were ejected onto the medial strip."
Arthur Dixon, a member of Twista's security team, died of his injuries at the hospital.
The music video for “Ride Till We Die,” shot before the accident, depicts a “horrific” van and car crash, according to SupersonicUSA Records. Parts of the clip were to be used in a new martial arts movie “Black Salt,” currently in production from Ratti Entertainment.
The song is exclusively available at the iTunes online music store until November. It will then expand to other retail outlets.
