Rapper Snoop Dogg and his rap collective 213 have been slapped with a lawsuit by a man who claims the stars have used his work on three songs without permission.
Producer DJ Battlecat, who has put together tracks for such rap / hip hop stars as Busta Rhymes, Brian McKnight, Xzibit and Faith Evans, filed the copyright-infringement suit on Sept. 2 over tracks which appear on 213's album The Hard Way.
Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, performs in the group alongside Warren G and Nate Dogg. Their record label TVT has also been named in the lawsuit.
