Dr. Dre's "Addictive" is the subject of a long standing lawsuit brought by RPG, Inc., an India Based recording compnay. According to court documents, the Dr and Aftermath records have refused to cease and desist using the sample of "Thoda Resham Lagta Hai" originally recorded by Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar for the movie "Joyti", a Pramod Film. Dre was granted a licens to do a "Cover" of the song and only for India however, the music was added to "Addictive" on the album "Truthfully Speaking". RPG is seeking $150,000 per instance of usage, 500 million dollars in punative damages, an accurate accounting from Dre, Aftermath, Interscope and Universal Records and are also seeking to have the recording pulled from every outlet including the internet. RPG also seeks the delivery of the masters and all storage media pertaining to the particular song and proof of destruction of any and all remaining records, CD's, Videos, DVD's, ets. One of the causes of action states that the use of the song and concept is against the religion of the original performer.
