Murder Inc, the record label now known as The Inc, is in the fed's scope again. Last week federal prosecutors won a decision in the ongoing investigation of the label's alleged money laundering practices.
Federal authorities allege a Gotti associate, Tyrone Moore, told them that he had collected money on Gotti's behalf, reports the NY Daily News.
"I never made any statements," Moore said. "Such statements came from nowhere. I know not to speak to the officers. I know my rights."
Informants have told investigators that Murder Inc. was backed and secretly controlled by former Queen's crack kingpin Richard "Supreme" McGriff.
Moore, who is facing 15 years in prison on a gun charge because of his long rap sheet, is said to be a friend of McGriff's as well.
Moore's lawyer, Marvyn Kornberg, had argued in court papers that the statements are inadmissible because his client was questioned by the agents without his counsel. But Federal Judge Raymond Dearie ruled that he was satisfied Moore had waived his right to remain silent.
