Planet Asia, one half of the Cali Agents, is well known throughout the hip-hop world. He is now preparing to release his long awaited solo LP debut titled The Grand Opening, being released on Avatar Records.
The album was announced that it was completed back in June 2003, but has not seen the light of day until now. The Grand Opening is set to drop January 27th.
It will feature production from Evidence, Jake One, Architect, Supa Dave West, DJ Khalil, and others. Guest appearances will include Skhoolyard, Rasco and Ghostface Killah.
Avatar Records signed Planet Asia back in January of 2003 after they won a heated bidding war for the unrated emcee.
"Planet Asia is a highly respected emcee with a global fan base," said Larry Robinson, Avatar's President. "We are ready to take Asia to the next level and sell many records in the process."
The first 12" single released is "Summertime In The City." The B-side is "G's & Soldiers" featuring Kurupt. This album should be classic Asia and just what the fans were waiting for.
"The world has waited long enough", said Walt Liquor, Planet Asia's manager. "We plan to strategically place Asia in front of as many people as possible and let him shine."
