Scipio
"The Coast Guard"
Biography
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Scipio is ready to take the music industry by storm. With his razor sharp lyrics, model looks, superstar charisma and effervescent personality, he's giving Hip-Hop a new face.
Upon listening you'll agree West Coast rap has its greatest chance at returning to prominence by riding the broad shoulders of the West's newest phenol, Scipio. A native of Los Angeles CA, Steven Scipio, better known as Scipio, is sunny Southern California's best-kept secret.

As a student of the game, he grew up listening and studying a wide range of artist from various genres of the hip-hop culture. It was typical to find D.J. Quick, Hieroglyphics, Nas or Ice Cube in his tape deck. Seriously rhyming for more than four years now, Scipio has crafted his own unique style and persona. He has been said to have the lyrical ability of Jay-Z, the vocal presence of Xzibit, and the grace of the late Tupac Shakur.

To date, Scipio has performed at a number of venues in nearly every major market. He has been tearing down shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, New York and Chicago, as well as his overseas accomplishments in Germany. This is just a small piece, of what is being added to his growing popularity in the hip-hop community.

Scipio has had the opportunity to work with artists such as Xzibit, Ras Kass, Killah Priest, Jon B and many others. He has appeared on a number of radio shows including, NY's Hot 97 (WQHT), and California's 100.3 The Beat (KKBT), Power 106 (KPWR), Jamming Z90, and many others. Recently, Scipio took home the trophy for best unsigned artist, hosted by Showtime and Interscope Records. "The Next Episode" a search for America's hottest new rappers, airs November 2003. In addition to being an accomplished performer, Scipio has also conquered the entrepreneur road with Hip-Hop artist Ras Kass, and industry heavyweight Kenny Kendricks. All three, have launched the entertainment company, Re-Up.
Rated next, Scipio's latest single "Work Wit It" explains him best, "The new genre is here, the rap Osama is near, tryin to drop the bomb of the year." Scipio's sound is the rebirth of the real. He is young, ambitious and talented - all the ingredients necessary to carve his very own niche in the industry.
