Imagine what would happen if Snoop Dogg's wife and kids traded places with an average suburban family. That's the premise behind the new series "Swap" in which mothers trade families for 10 days. To kick off their first season, ABC is looking for Hip-Hop loving families -- two parents and children -- to star in their newest show.
ABC's 'Swap' involves two mothers who swap homes and families for 10 days. For the first 5 days, the mothers follow the new family's rules and familiarize themselves with their way of life, values and beliefs. Then, for the 5 remaining days, the mothers become the head of the household and make any change they see fit.
Though much tamer than a hilarious previous episode of the irreverent Chappelle Show in which a black and a white couple swapped spouses, the potential for hilarity in the culture clash is evident.
"The aim of the program is to explore the dynamics of the modern American family. I am sure that there is no such thing as a 'typical American family," said ABC researcher, Donovan Harris.
The project will be filmed by reputed London production company RDF Media, who previously won awards for "Junkyard Wars." "The Swap" is scheduled to air on ABC in the summer of 2004.
"The Swap" is currently looking for hip-hop loving families who want to trade places. If your family has hip-hop flava, call: 212-905-6059 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit 'The Swap' website at theswaptvshow.com.
