A POST photographer assaulted by 50 Cent's goons has slapped the rap superstar with a $21 million lawsuit.
Jim Alcorn was knocked down by 50 Cent's hulking heavies on Aug. 27 while he was taking pictures of the hip-hopper leaving Jacob the Jeweler's diamond district shop, where 50 Cent had just bought an $18,000 watch. Alcorn was rushed to the emergency room after the street-corner smackdown. Hospital X-rays revealed injuries to his neck and jaw.
"I am bringing this lawsuit because what happened to me was wrong," Alcorn tells PAGE SIX. "No photographer should have what happened to me happen to them.
"As a result of the injuries I received, I was unable to work for nearly eight weeks. I respectfully request the officials of the New York City police department and the district attorney's office to complete their criminal investigation. I ask for justice."
Alcorn's lawyer, former Abner Louima attorney Sanford Rubenstein, will announce the megabucks lawsuit tomorrow at his Brooklyn law office. The suit, filed in Queens Supreme Court (Alcorn's home borough), names 50 Cent, a.k.a. Curtis Jackson, Interscope Records, Shady/Aftermath Records, and the rapper's seven security guards, who are unidentified, as defendants.
Rubenstein says X-rays show Alcorn suffered "serious" neck and jaw injuries. He added that police have yet to identify Alcorn's attacker even though Alcorn photographed the thug while he was lying on the street after being decked.
"There's a spectacular shot of both the security guard and 50 Cent looming over Jim," Rubenstein said. "There's no question from the photograph that the security guard is identifiable. We're waiting for the police to ascertain his identity. In Jim's search for justice, he wants the appropriate criminal charges to be brought."
A spokeswoman for the DA's office said that neither 50 Cent nor any of his security guards have yet been charged. An NYPD spokesman would not comment on the investigation.
50 Cent - a one-time crack dealer who is constantly surrounded by a small army of bodyguards and performs in a bulletproof vest - has been stabbed and shot several times. He is involved in a violent and well-publicized rivalry with rapper Ja Rule. His manager, Chris Lighty, did not return calls.
