Ja Rule has been uncharacteristically quiet about his sixth album, Blood in My Eye, but the rapper will break his silence in an interview to air on BET and national radio stations on November 4th, the day of the album's release. Ja will visit Chicago to be interviewed by Minister Louis Farakhan, the only promotional chat he will give in support of the album.
Blood in My Eye finds Ja Rule taking a different direction than his most recent releases. He addresses critics in the press as well as in his profession (feuds with 50 Cent and DMX have received plenty of attention), and the record will not feature any guest spots by R&B star Ashanti, whose recordings with Ja have been charting hits and staples of his past three records.
One single, "The Crown," has already made its way around the mixtape circuit, and the album's official first single, "Clap Back," hit radio airwaves this week. Ja shot a video for the clip that was initially rejected by MTV after scenes of gunplay were deemed too violent. An edited version is being released this week, and the original uncut version will be made available for purchase on Napster.
