Snoop Dogg, without a doubt one of the most notorious gangsta rappers of all time, is now also a cute, cuddly doll.
Graham Potter from Element Marketing has scored the Australian rights to the Snoop Dogg dolls and will release the little critter into the market place in November.
Potter describes himself as someone "into the urban collectables/lowrider/hip-hop scene".
The Snoop doll came about as through David Gonzales. "David, who created the Homies which I distribute is a friend of Snoops" Graham tells Undercover News. "He mentioned to me that Snoop was doing the dolls so I contacted Sota Toys who designed them".
Sota Toys have a pedigree in the business. "They did Planet Of The Apes, Matrix, lots of other stuff which is why the Snoop dolls are so well designed" he says.
Australians will be able to buy a collectible Snoop Dogg doll when they are released next month. Graham has also secured the rights to an Australian exclusive version.
There should be a lot of Snoop talk happening by the time the doll is released. "It's timed to coincide with the release of the new 213 album, Snoops' got his original posse back together" he says. "There is also a new Snoop DVD/video due for release around that time, and his new cartoon show is running on cable in the US and should be picked up by one of the cable TV music shows here".
The Snoop Dogg doll is expected to retail for around $50 but will also be available cheaper at around $35 from Graham's own site www.homiecentral.com.au
