Los Angeles, CA (August 19, 2003) – METISSE, a Los Angeles based production company headed up by KCRW’s Garth Trinidad, music producer Mathieu Schreyer of Kingsbread and actor/musician Gary Dourdan (C.S.I.) will host “Westcoastin’: Rollerskizzle Cali Skizzle” Sunday, August 31, 2003 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at World on Wheels in Los Angeles. “Westcoastin’: Rollerskizzle Cali Skizzle” is a positive community oriented event that is family friendly designed to celebrate the culmination of another summer in Los Angeles. Deejays Melo-D and J-Rocc of the World Famous Beat Junkies, Spinderella of Salt N Pepa and now on-air personality for 100.3 the Beat, Al Jackson of the Soul Children, and Garth Trinidad of KCRW’s Chocolate City will be spinning all west coast classics—soul, funk, hip hop and electro boogie. In addition, there will be a roller skating contest, lottery prize giveaways and special guests. Admission is $10 and includes free skate rental. Partial proceeds will benefit the View Park Preparatory a local charter school. World on Wheels is located at 4645 ½ Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles. This event is sponsored by Scion, Hot 92 Jamz, Nike, and Liberation Radio 87.7 FM.
