Notorious B.I.G's charity foundation will honour the mother's of late rap and R'n'B stars in a black-tie gala event in New York on March 11.
The event dubbed The B.I.G. Night Out will be hosted by the Christopher Wallace Foundation and pay tribute to Afeni Shakur (mother of Tupac Shakur), Diane Haughton (mother of Aaliyah), Connie Mizell (mother of Jam Master Jay), Wanda Lopes (mother of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes), Gail Tirado (mother of Big Pun), Herminia Rogers (mother of Freaky Tah) and Gilda Terry (mother of Big L).
Appearing on the night will be P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Wyclef Jean, Run-DMC and Biggie's wife Faith Evans.
March 2003 marks the sixth year remembrance of the passing of the late Notorious B.I.G. He was shot to death on March 9, 1997.
CWMF celebrates the spirit of all he was and still is during A B.I.G. Night Out. The event provides an annual moment to commemorate a person and talent who remains a symbol of progress taken for granted.
The event will take place March 11 at Metropolitan Pavilion, 110 W.19th Street, (Between 6th and 7th), New York, NY 10011. Tickets are $US 250.
