Interscope Records executive Kevin Black is set to be honoured at "The 5th Annual Impact Record Pool Awards" for his support and outstanding contribution to the music industry.
Kevin Black has successfully strategized the promotional campaigns of Eminem, Eve, 50 Cent, Limp Bizkit, Dr. Dre, Blackstreet, and The Lox amongst others. He is considered "The Man," the "hit-maker" in today’s Hip-Hop world. Black explains that promotion is an art : "It's nothing you can be taught, you just have to have it - and to make it in this industry, you have to want it."
He also revealed his formula for success : "I take a simple management style, I think from the executive suites to every corner of the streets." He always makes sure to remember that its the fans that make the hits.
Alongside Kevin Black, Impact will also award Cecililia McCledon aka "C Murda," the Vice-President of R&B Promotions at Arista Records and Jon Platt aka "Big Jon" the Senior Vice-President of EMI Music Publishing.
The event is set to take place on Tuesday February 25th, 2003 at the Regency Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA. The VIP Reception is from 6pm till 7pm with the Dinner and Awards Party from 7 until Midnight.
